These are just some of the many adjectives that describe the sound of Teisha Marie. So, what about her style? It’s inviting. It’s Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin meets Nancy Wilson and Debussy.
This England-born/Maryland-raised singer-songwriter, is a classically trained multi-instrumentalist, and poet. She’s also one who’s not afraid to take risks. After graduating from Spelman College (where she studied Music History and Theory) in Atlanta, Georgia, Teisha Marie then headed to Philadelphia.
Tastemakers Soul at Vibz Uptown n Hartford
“At that particular time, Philadelphia was experiencing a rebirth of the ‘Philly sound‘, and it was great to be fully immersed in it. I got a chance to meet the greats, like Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, Bunny Sigler, and many others,” she says.
Performing all around the east coast in DC, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and New York has proved to be both enlightening and exhilarating. Teisha reflects: “Performing for me is a way to connect with people and create an intimate experience. Music is a passion for me and I love to share my excitement every chance I get.”
Teisha Marie – LIVE – The Sugar Bar – NYC
Fast-forward to the present: Her debut album, Addicted to Life – The LP, conveys sounds of hope, love and appreciation of life’s complexities. Songs like “More Important” and “Inner Truth” touch on the value of self-reflection and sincerity.
While “Addicted to Life” encourages listeners to listen to follow their own path. Where does her songwriting inspiration come from? “One word: life.
Life isn’t one-dimensional, so why should music be that way? Music is definitely a universal language, and I want people to listen, and understand exactly what it is I’m trying to say.” With one listen, it’s affirmed that Teisha Marie definitely has a “message in the music.”

Unique and soulful is the only words to describe soul singer Gina Carey.
Although many have compared Gina Carey to Broadway’s sensation and recording artist Stephanie Mills, she has her own sound and style that can easily be identified in all of her recordings.
Throughout Gina’s musical career, she has written and recorded 3 independently released gospel CD’s (In His Time, Changes & Tell Um) and 2 soulful albums, “My Journey” and her latest “Melodic“.
Gina began her professional recording career in 1996 with her first release “In His Time” selling over 10,000 copies nationwide.
In 2006, Gina was nominated by the Black Music Academy Association of America in two categories: “Best Gospel Performer – Female” and “Gospel Rising Star“. She performed at the event, held at the Cashman Theater, before a full house and won the “Las Vegas Black Music Awards 2006 Best Gospel Performer – Female” award. Later that year, she auditioned for NBC’s America’s Got Talent.
Gina Carey A Change
In 2007, She also performed at the first EURWEB awards with Lee Bailey and in that same year, Gina auditioned for the Hit TV show *Showtime at the Apollo* and impressed the judges so much that she was invited twice to be a guest on the show filmed in Harlem, New York.
In 2008BET J aired her “True Love” music video on the morning Cup show. Her most recent album entitled “Melodic” was the first and only CD that was written, arranged & composed by Gina.
Her multi talented husband and recording artist Urban Soul Guitarist “JOHN CAREY” produced the “Melodic” CD and is also featured on this album as the lead guitarist.
John Carey feat. Gina Carey – Out On The Town
The sensual soulful sound of Gina Carey meets the electrifying/ funky jazz lead guitarist contributions of her husband, urban soul Guitarist John Carey on all 10 songs on Gina’s album. Gina celebrates her fifth release with 10 new songs that put you back in the old school sounds of the early 80′s era.
This CD includes 4 soulful mid tempo love ballads “Loving You“, “Share My Life“, “Don’t ever Let Me Go” and “Unbelievable“, 2 the fun, funky soulful up tempo tracks” Red Hat” and the old school up tempo disco jam “Without you” and 4 inspirational songs “I Care” , Life Is More “Don’t You Give Up“, and “A Change” a powerful song about the worlds crises and the hope for the future.
After being in hiatus for almost four years, Gina’s husband was the inspiration behind this phenomenal project. “I wasn’t planning on recording anytime soon.
John Carey Feat.Gina Carey – Step Show
I think I was becoming comfortable with just being a wife and singing backgrounds on my husband’s new CD “New Beginnings“, but my husband continued to encourage me to not give up on my passion to sing. So “Melodic” was born through that experience.”
With a new love and a fresh perspective, John & Gina were able to create a masterpiece. Gina was born on October 17 in Chicago, Illinois and spent her formative years growing up in Los Angeles, CA. She now resides in Palm Springs, CA.
“I came up with the name Melodic because people are always telling me that my music is very soothing and smooth so I thought I would name this CD “Melodic” because of the pleasant sounding melodies comprised on this album.
I started singing around 8 years and singing has been my passion every since. My musical influences were Gladys Knight, Denise Williams, Minnie Riperton, Billy Holiday, and Stevie Wonder. I grew up listening to real music. Singers in those days made you feel really something.
Gina Carey Unbelievable
I love the raw vocals and real singing from the soul. That’s the type of music I enjoy writing and performing.” Gina has performed all over the United States and has shared the stage with many well established celebrities and will be touring throughout US this year with her husband John Carey.

There is grit that lies underneath the raw vocals of Dame Alexander.
His early musical canvas was painted by bbq’s in Haddington Park in Philadelphia PA and in the living room of his grandmother Catherine Alexander. In both places the musical soul of Philadelphia both old and new, filled the air.
Ever-present though was the inherent violence in the streets of this American metropolis. It is thru the struggle to maintain balance in the asphalt jungle, that Dame Alexander pens his stories.
And what’s the story? Dammien was a very, very bad boy. Not misunderstood, no preconceived prejudice due to color, he was just bad. How did he get that way? Dad left.
Mom worked and the streets worked on him. Sometimes dad worked on mom, in front of the whole neighborhood. Friends died, lots of them from bullets. Quite a few went to prison because of murder or cocaine, or both.
Satelite
At the age of 12 he became homeless. Then he became a foster child. This is the abridged version, things got worse. Things did get better eventually. Then Dame gained faith thru people that cared. Sports saved his life, particularly basketball. He pursued his calling to both passions when he enrolled at Mid America Christian University.
Then he became an all-American athlete. Later that year he would befriend a rowdy Canadian point guard at a summer camp in New York. The precocious Newfoundlander would convince him to move north of the border.
He would secure a scholarship at the University of Cape Breton and become team MVP and a second team All-Conference selection. Still as the sunset, the sounds of Philadelphia would haunt him in the sea-misted night of the maritime’s.
Let’s Stay Together
But something else was creeping in as well, the sounds of down home rock and roll in a little seaport town called Halifax. Armed with a Korg Triton and an acoustic guitar Dame would fuse the two genres, and carve a new niche.
In the summer of 2009 Dammien “Dame” Alexander would birth a new project, Gentlemen Deluxe. Then for the better part of 2 years he would record two records. One would be a soul tinged indie pop rock album (yet to be titled) and the second is an urban dance/r&b/hip-hop LP aptly titled “Light The Night”.
“Light The Night” is scheduled for a FALL 2011 release. This 12-track romp promises to be the surprise album of the year. The lead off single “BANG IT OUT” is the aperitif to the full menu of gourmet dance infused r&b/hip-hop. Peppered with sexy lyrical wordplay and epic choruses, “Light The Night” fits firmly in the international pop urban Omni verse.
Dame Alexander – Paralize
Under his given name, the first solo release “Beautifully” (2007) the primarily self-produced effort that would be licensed to the Toronto based independent label Curve Music to be distributed by Universal Records Canada.
The album featured an acoustic pop rock sound that would earn Dammien a Music Nova Scotia Award for “Urban Recording” He would then create a 30 sec. mini-vid/commercial “V.iolence I.nterrupts B.eauty for E.veryone” for Much Music that is still in rotation on the MUCH VIBE Network after 4 years.
One of the album’s B-sides “Friendship” would also be licensed to the OMNI Network to be played on an episode of the urban drama “Metropia“. He would then set off to prove his raw acoustic soul-tinged sound and tour the east coast & Ontario Canada with appearances at CMW, The ECMA‘s and Music Nova Scotia industry showcases.
Dame Alexander – Resist Babylon
He would also be invited to teach a seminar on urban fusion at the 2007Atlantic Jazz Festival. In 2008 Dammien followed his initial success up with “We Are Who We Have Been Waiting For” on Live Village Records (nationwide digital. Itunes, FYE) the independent label that he and Bus Stop Theatre founder Howard Beye created.
That album was signed by Sound Of Pop Inc and serviced to Ole Publishing. The album was made available to US and Canadian Universities. The album would enjoy 7 top 20 placements. In 2008 He would TOUR The UK, ASIA, CANADA and the US in support of the record.
Live Village Records was also instrumental in the development and launching of the careers of Canadian newcomer Marinda Lavut Aka FERAL BLISS and Canadian Starmaker fund winner SHOBHA, who’s debut album placed a single “At Your Feet” at #27 on the Canadian Billboard Charts.
Damien Alexander & The Gentlemen Deluxe
Both artists have gone on to win Toronto Independent Music Awards and national acclaim. Dammien Alexander produced FERAL BLISS’S debut the critically embraced “WHITE NOISE INTERMISSION”.?Recently Dammien grabbed the helm for yet another singer songwriter by the name of Naomi Psalm hailing from Boise Idaho.
Her project The Blue Cinema has already begun to turn heads. The 6-song EP demonstrates further Dame’s understanding of composition, songwriting and performance. Listen for yourself at: http://www.thebluecinema.com. Dammien’s biggest source of pride comes not when he rocks a crowd but when he can support charity fundraising events/projects with his talent.
He has helped raise thousands of dollars thru his participation in events such as, Musicians For Haiti (Proceeds were donated to The Red Cross Canada), The Art Of Fashion (International AIDS Charity Event), Songs for the Homeless (Action to raise funds for the homeless of Halifax Nova Scotia), Tony Griffin Foundation (Cancer Research) to name a few.

EPIC TRAGEDY
BANG IT OUT
“LIGHT THE NIGHT” is the second project under the GENTLEMEN DELUXE BRAND. “BANG IT OUT” the lead single is unique in that it features but two instruments voice and drums. With its primal thump and Dammien’s gruff delivery, this track is a fail-safe for any DJ to get the club ramped up into a fever pitch. Impact Date FALL 2011

Ronnie Rolon, better known as the emcee Double, is not only a rapper, but first and foremost a Man of God.
Double is no stranger to the industry with achievements under his belt such as a 2012 Holy Hip Hop Honoree, 2009 YGEA Winner for Best Collaboration for “You Go Girl” with St. Claire, 2005 Stellar Award Nominee and over 40,000 downloads on two mixtapes.
Throughout Double’s music career, his music has been spread to a broad audience by being featured on Holy Hip Hop Vol. 2, Inspiration Jam Vol. 2, which were released under EMI/Sony, as well as being featured on 20+ mixtapes.
Double’s hit single, “Poison“, from his freshman album has been docked as a top 3 single on Holy Hip Hop Radio, and he was also featured in Exodus Magazine. Not only does Double rap, but he also acts as he was featured in Christopher “Play” Martin’s, from the rap group Kid and Play, Holy Hip Hop: The Movie.
Double (Spoken Word)
Before there was a “Double”, there was Ronnie Rolon. A young man from the inner city of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Growing up in the inner city, Ronnie saw what the streets had to offer. As Ronnie matured he weighed the pros and cons of the streets, and compared it to the pros and cons of what God offers.
Seeing that there were no cons with siding with God, Ronnie was reborn as Double. Double later on moved to Atlanta, Ga, where he still resides, and decided to take his gift of music to the masses. He became a member of Victory World Church, where Pastor Dennis Rouse is the overseer, and began to furthermore read his word and get closer to God.
As Double continued to grow, he became an Urban Missionary with Freestyle, headed by Scott Free, and started to take the gospel where it needed to be heard the most which is the streets, detention centers, and everywhere else God leads.
Double’s music is honest and pure, and with the help of God, it’s being used as an instrument to bring change to not only a dying culture, but a world as we know and see it.
City Takers – Double ft. K Drama
Takeback Records saw this in Double and recently offered and signed a deal with him with worldwide distribution. Double has the support of his fans globally, Takeback Records, 3HP Records, as well as his newly formed label, Norf Up Music.
As far as the name Double goes, it speaks of the double portion God has given him and comes directly from the scriptures of Ephesians 3:20 which states; Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.
In closing, Double is an instrument that God is using in multiple areas to bring glory to himself, and to bring music back to it’s original format which is, God’s Word.

Brenda Nicole Moorer is the sweetest voice to grace a microphone, a distinctly haunting airy voice, a simple breath of fresh air.
A songbird in her own right, her 4 octave vocal range and heartfelt story like lyrics will capture your attention even before her sweet demeanor. Being named after her grandmother, Brenda’s old school, girl next door name, reflects her music and style.
A songwriter, composer, piano player, guitar player, and actress sees all too much for one artist to wrangle. But, Brenda humbly does so as a seemingly meek and mild figure encompassing jazz stylized vocals with a soulful pop, and an indie feel.
Space- Original Song at Apache cafe
She brings the great jazz singers to the modern day pop culture. Her music is fresh mixing the old and the new. She can stand up tall right next to Norah Jones, Corinne Bailey Rae, and Alanis Morisette.
Her music is reminiscent of sounds from Amel Larrieux, Fiona Apple, Sade, and John Mayer. She’s soul, she’s jazz, she’s indie pop, in a loosely structured, melodic flare of brilliance; she’s a unique artist in this generation.
Growing up she listened to singers like Billie Holiday, Ani Difranco, Bjork, Alanis Morsiette, Sade, Donnie Hathaway, Nina Simone, Dave Matthews Band, and Sarah Vaughan. Her influences cover a wide variety of genre, and the eclectic mix is apparent in her music.
Autumn Leaves -Brenda Nicole Moorer
Some would think this 24 year old is too young to appreciate such a variety of icons; but, she proves differently with songs like “Listen” and “Autumn Leaves” from her upcoming album, Songbird; to be released on her label, Yellow orchid Records, later this year.
Brenda’s depth and variety of music can be attributed to her varied upbringing. Being exposed from a variety of cultures, from the inner city of Milwaukee Wisconsin to the brilliant culture of Copenhagen, Denmark; Brenda has lived in Toronto, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, and finally Atlanta Georgia.
Her music runs deep being the granddaughter of the Lead singer Alvis Moorer, from the 60’s hit group, The Esquires. Brenda is emerging to the front line after being in Dave Hollister’s girl group NIA and singing background for dozens of artists including jazz vocalists Julie Dexter.
Closer-Cover of Corinne Bailey Rae by Brenda Nicole Moorer
Don’t think this songbird lacks onstage experience; she has a list of gigs under her belt including opening for Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Mya, and Omarion; as well as singing across stages in America all the way to the Netherlands.
She even craftily did some gigs singing backstage in the green rooms of Anita baker, Patti Labelle, and Yolanda Adams. This young woman is a true artist, sticking truly to what she believes is good music.
Formerly signed with Universal Australia, she ditched the poppy dance tunes to sing what she felt in her heart and soul, the real stories of her life, the best songs unwritten. Brenda Nicole Moorer says “music has to be done with purpose to matter at all.”
Sings cover “Love Is You” and original Autumn Leaves
She works to create music that listeners can identify with, and not only to make them dance, but to move their hearts and change their minds. She released a single in 2001 with her former London based label MAPP records. The single hit #2 at the young age of 15.
She is a self-taught guitar and piano player, and an extraordinary writer. She got her writing chops first by co-writing her music with Keisha Miles, hit songwriter for Ciara.
Her first song ever written, Ordinary Guy, was a huge success among the locals of Atlanta, GA. She went on to release the Songbird EP in 2006, which has now evolved to the full album, Songbird.
Sings Ne me Quitte (my tribute to the song) and Listen
The EP sold hundreds of copies and created quite a buzz for the budding indie star. Brenda says, “I really don’t like having to fit into a genre, so I write from whatever it is Im feeling or thinking at the moment; wether it comes out sounding soul or pop is inconsequential.”
In person, Brenda Nicole Moorer seems sweet and shy, but if you catch her on stage you’ll find that it is home to her, with a stage presence that commands attention as she sings beautiful melodies atop a live violin, cello, bass, brilliant keys, and guitar.
She can be seen as the leading lady in several music videos being released this year in the US. Truly unforgettable, this girl belongs on a grand stage with full orchestra backing her. She was nicknamed Songbird by jazz singer Julie Dexter, and Brenda’s voice definitely fills up the name.
A professional actor, Brenda has a theater and film resume that would surprise you, and her flare for character that shines through on stage and off. She feels that film acting is the truest form of herself she can be, and wants to continue pursuing film, holding a career in film and music.
You Make Me
Currently, Brenda is preparing for her first album release and continues to follow the music in her heart, striving to release her music independently, until the rest of the world catches her beat; inspiring one soul at a time to feel something…anything…hopefully something…great.
To say that this lady is talented is an understatement. Singer, Songwriter, Spoken Word Artist, Producer, Arranger, Vocal Coach, Performance Coach, and Educator.
NeoSouljah has been working in the music/theater/spoken word industry for many years, however was discovered and named by Stellar/Dove award winning gospel music artist Babbie Mason in 2003 at her National Music Conference.
In a mere 9 years, NeoSouljah or “Neo”, has directly worked with, or shared stages with many established and upcoming artists:
HBO Def Poetry Jam/Peabody award winners Tamika Harper [Georgia Me] and “Abyss” Graham, to producing, arranging and performing vocals on as well writing a spoken word piece Brian O’Neal’s [KEM] 2007 project entitled “Daisy” (special guest performer/host at CD release party).
Sister Girl (Live) – Soul of A Woman Expo
Her sound check brought the set-up to a standstill, and later KEM desbcribed her performance as “amazing”. She was the first ever Spoken Word Artist on a major platform at National conferences for the National Society of Black Engineers/NSBE [2 yrs Standing Room Only].
National conferences of various sectors of the Christian church [guest speaker], first a guest then Headliner at Philadelphia’s Spotlight on Jazz & Poetry Festival [by popular demand].
Most recently, the Tri-C Jazzfest Inaugural Poetry and Jazz Jam Session [artist/host] which is the largest Jazz festival in Ohio and arguably the Midwest.
Poetic Eulogy (Tribute to Michael Jackson)
Most recently, the Tri-C Jazzfest Inaugural Poetry and Jazz Jam Session [artist/host] which is the largest Jazz festival in Ohio and arguably the Midwest.
Sharing the stage with World renowned trumpeter Sean Jones, her performance was hailed as “incredible” NeoSouljah has a 5 octave range which lends towards the contralto/tenor register.
This complete with a rich, smoky speaking voice has afforded her work doing everything from indie radio voiceovers to demos of music for other songwriters.
To her credit Neo has performed nearly every kind of music: Rock, Hip-Hop, R&B, Jazz, Neo Soul, Country & Western and Gospel. And now.. finally, her debut CD. While still infant in it’s appearance onto the Indie Neo Soul scene, NSV has already garned praise from DJ’s and industry execs, as well as label and indie artists in the USA, Japan, Sweden, and EUROPE.
Daze ft. Ace Boogie – NeoSouljah.
They have had the chance to experience the rapidfire staccato of her spoken word and tight 6 part harmonies on “EniGMa”, the soulfulness of her collaboration with Ace Boogie on “Daze”, the clean but sensous delivery of ‘COLORS”, and most notably, the true interpretation of straightahead jazz on “Like I Do”
NSV is the brainchild of Michael Lee Loyd [MLee Entertainment], Ace Boogie [Nappy Groove Records], Rob Hardt [The Candy Factory, EUROPE], and NeoSouljah. A rarity in music today, it boasts a majority of LIVE production:
Working with [Michael Loyd, keys/synth/piano; Rob Hardt, keys/synth; Vinnie Mansfield, Lead/Bass, Brandon Austin, Drums; Shenole Latimer, Saxophone] and all BGV are hers – no autotunes or pitchbending.
Like I Do
With topics ranging from God to sex, Neo’s delivery of Spoken Word is crisp with a cadence that is as hypnotic as the accompaniment. The intro cut “EniGMa” is an indicator that this is not your ordinary bongo/flute poetry CD as the razor sharp delivery is back-dropped with 6 part harmonies reminiscent of Manhattan Transfer or Take 6.
Old School
Her penmanship is next level, choosing to edge away from the more ‘street’ style of language and challenge the hearer to embrace a more mature approach, as heard on “COLORS”, a rich , sensual, erotic presentation of ‘the morning after’.
The tenor of the project is most decidedly seated in Jazz, however there are a few surprises in R&B [‘Truth Love”], Rock [Pantys on Da Stage], and Hip-Hop [Daze] “Poetic Eulogy.
NSV has received nods from several DJ’s around the world, with the straight-ahead torch “Like I Do”, traditional jazz “Put Ur Bk N2 It” and hip-hop infused DAZE (Do You Remember)having now been played in 14 countries. Not bad for an indie debut.. by word of mouth…. By a “poet”.
In writing her bio we found it hard to do a summation… because there is so much left out with regards to her accomplishments, and so much more to put in pertaining to her future endeavors. So we simply say: Enjoy. If this is only Chapter 1? We are in for a fantastic read.
Andrea Lawrence, or “ANDE’”, to all who warmly know her, has made it her personal goal to revive the neo-soul music world with her sultry-rich vocals and piercing lyrics.
With no “formal” voice training behind her, this Dallas, Texas native’s raw talent displays vocal control and range uncommon for most vocalists to date.
Her distinct and unique style derives from many musical influences and genres from her roots in Gospel, to Jazz, to R&B to her now current Neo-Soul platform.
Embracing ANDE Ready for Love
Her soul stirring music speaks across generations with smooth, sultry sounds reminiscent of Nancy Wilson synthesized with the poetic styling of Jill Scott.
“I believe true music pierces the heart and as I sing, I want to make sure that I’m able to speak to someone’s soul,” ANDE‘ explains.
She scored her first major singing opportunity in December 2006 where she toured in Italy with a gospel group “The Women of God” under the direction of Knagui Invernizzi.
Embracing ANDE Brown Skin
In December 2009, she received that opportunity again with a different gospel group “Oscar Williams & Perfected Praise” under the direction of Oscar Williams.
She has since performed on stages throughout the US from Sankofa’s Jazz Club, BacaraClub, and The A Room. Additionally, ANDE’ has also made appearances at colleges for charitable events such as the fight for a cure for Sickle Cell at the University of North Texas.
In January 2011, ANDE’ released her first single “Let It Happen” to the world. This release is the prelude single to her highly-anticipated debut album “Embracing ANDE’ ” set to release in 2012. ANDE’ is currently signed to independent record label, NuWu Entertainment Group, LLC.
