Joseph Junior


Born in London of Nigerian parents Joseph grew up listening to Jazz legends such as Ella Fitzgerald, Cole Porter, Al Jarreau; George Benson to Motown and British Soul Funk acts such as Sade, Omar, Brand New Heavies etc.

After extensive training at the Soul Experience Vocal Academy in Voice building and techniques, Joseph had the opportunity to provide back up vocals for Desree; Maxi Priest; Mick Hucknall, Chrissie Hynde and Jocelyn Brown. He then went on to Showcase his talents at legendary venues as the Jazz Café, The Scala; Ronnie Scott’s Royal Albert Hall Soho Jazz Festival. An various festivals abroad  like Fest-neutch in Switzerland, and.

A chance meeting with an unsigned vocalist and songwriter, Queeley, led to recording and vocal arrangement session at the legendary Larry Gold and Gamble & Huff Studios in Philadelphia, USA.

His music is laid back undiluted and honest as can be every song is a story and a journey

I want to keep evolving, inspiring and be inspired, I want  to keep raising my game, there are no short cuts , you either give the BEST or nothing at all

Currently recording with the BLACK STYLE MOOD a group project from Switzerland and working on his own solo album recorded in Switzerland and Philadelphia.

As well as being a recording artist, Joseph is involved in song writing for publishing and has written for other unsigned acts like Jazz Funk Band “Freefall” and various other projects.

Feautures with the BLACK STYLE MOOD on the compilation CD Soul Unsigned Vol 1 with a track called “Closer”
