What do Tony Award and two time GRAMMY Award winner Jennifer Holliday, GRAMMY Award winner Gloria Gaynor, R&B star Bobby V, and pop music phenomenon Justin Bieber all have in common? They’ve all had the great fortune of having soulful songstress Latrese Bush as a background vocalist.
Her melodic vocal range has supported these and many other musical greats. Latrese fuses her high energy with brilliant vocal ability in each song and performance; crafting memorable musical experiences for her audience.
When she’s not traveling the world with Gloria Gaynor performing the iconic hit “I Will Survive”, Latrese can be found singing at various venues, songwriting and making music. Latrese can also be heard as a featured vocalist and songwriter on trumpeter Joey Sommerville’s jazz album “Ride To This” and his newest releases “Like You Mean It” and “The Get Down Club”.
She also gives a standout performance on Rhonda Smith’s funk jazz debut, “Intellipop,” and is featured on jazz artist Bob Baldwin‘s single “Turn the Club Up” from his latest album “Twenty.” Latrese is also featured on, “Up and Down,” the 2014 single from legendary funk group, The BarKays.
Meet Latrese Bush
Hailing from Bluffton, SC, a small coastal town nestled between the beautiful Sea Islands of South Carolina and Georgia, Latrese projects the mix of cultural, soulful, and rhythmic sounds she heard as a little girl with dreams of making her own music for audiences all around the world.
With the goal of realizing all the hopes and dreams of that little girl from South Carolina, Latrese continues to blaze her path to success. In May 2015, she celebrated the official release of her debut EP, “The Best”before a capacity crowd at Center Stage VINYL (Atlanta, GA).
The title song from the EP is a featured track on, “Luxury Soul 2015,” the UK produced album series featuring some of the best contemporary soul tunes available.
Latrese is currently focusing on writing and recording new material for her first full length EP when she’s not performing in the U.S. and touring the globe with Gloria Gaynor. A featured single from the upcoming album will be a duet with Noel Gourdin entitled, “Because of You.” Be on the lookout for more incredible songs and live performances from Latrese in the future!
